Caitlin Shannon, DDS

“I love dentistry because it isn't a job where you are doing one thing every day. I have seen images that say a dentist equals a doctor, engineer, and an artist; I agree with that completely. Not only do I get to help others, but I get to bring in my artistic skills and make that someone's whole day.  I want to be able to give people the confident, healthy, beautiful smile that they want."

My Mission

My mission in dentistry is to not only give people beautiful smiles but to also change the way

they think about their oral health. A lot of people are either afraid of the dentist and do not go,

or they put their teeth at the bottom of their list of health needs. I want to educate people so that

they understand how important your mouth is to your entire health. Along with that, I want to

be able to give back and provide care for those who cannot afford dental care on a regular basis

or even at all. It is important that every person receives care no matter what.

Education

Purdue Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology and a Minor in German:

Indiana University Purdue University of Indianapolis

Doctorate of Dental Surgery: Indiana University School of Dentistry

Continuing Education & Professional Memberships

I am currently a part of the Indiana Dental Association and the American Dental Association.

Life & Hobbies

When I am not providing dental care, I spend most of my time outside with my husband and two dogs. We love hiking, kayaking, playing Frisbee, and riding our ranger on country roads. I have also always had a love for musical theater and dance, which I was very involved in all growing up. You will hear me singing 75% of the time daily. Being able to spend time with family is extremely important to me. I love being able to do events with everyone together as often as we can. Family is the foundation that keeps me motivated to work hard and help others.
